About me
MY STORY

Thank you for taking the time to learn more about me. I’m Anatolii Tupkalo, a Ukrainian American who arrived in the United States in 2015, eager to start a new chapter. Graduating from Poltava National Technical University in 2001 with a degree in architecture and design, I began my career as a graphic designer and artist at a monument company in Poltava, Ukraine. As the internet became an integral part of our lives, my interest in web design and development grew accordingly.

After relocating to the United States, I decided to turn my passion for the web world into my career. During the first three years, while taking numerous classes in Front-end development and UX/UI design, I worked as a graphic designer for several monument companies in Denver as a freelancer.

Upon completing various classes, I was ready to pursue my dream career. However, landing a job as a junior designer proved challenging. I accepted an offer at the small family-owned funeral home, Piece Of Heaven, where I handled all design work, including graphic design, UX/UI design, and web development. Despite gaining valuable experience, I recognized limited growth opportunities in the small business.

To advance my career, I left Piece Of Heaven and enrolled in a six-month UX/UI course at UX Academy by DesignLab to update my awareness of web design according to current market requirements. Now, I am a passionate UX/UI designer.

My skills

I identify primarily as a UX/UI designer, but I don’t view the hours spent learning and practicing front-end and related technologies as wasted. In fact, I consider it a significant complement to my design skills. Understanding the entire cycle of a digital product, from user research to front-end and back-end development, and even SEO optimization, provides me with a good advantage as a UX/UI designer. Here are some coding skills I possess:
