MY STORY

Hello again, Thank you for your interest in learning about my background. My name is Anatolii Tupkalo, and I’m a Ukrainian American who came to the United States in 2015, eager to embark on a new chapter of my life.

I graduated from Poltava National Technical University in 2001 with a degree in architecture. My professional journey began as a graphic designer and artist at a monument company in Poltava, Ukraine. As the internet became an integral part of our daily lives, my passion for web design and development grew exponentially.

After relocating to the United States, I decided to turn my passion into a career. For the first two years, while taking numerous classes in Front-end development and UX/UI design, I worked as a graphic designer for several monument companies in Denver on a contract basis.

Once I completed these courses, I was ready to pursue my dream career. I joined Piece Of Heaven, a funeral and cremation services provider, where I handled all design work, including graphic design, UX/UI design, and web development. Although I gained valuable experience, the business downsized, leaving me with limited opportunities for career advancement.

Determined to progress, I left Piece Of Heaven and enrolled in a six-month UX/UI course at UX Academy by DesignLab. This allowed me to update my knowledge and skills to align with current market requirements. Today, I am a passionate UX/UI designer, dedicated to creating exceptional digital experiences.

  • Designed a mobile app focused on memorizing words for foreign language learning, accelerating the learning process and increasing new student engagement by 1/3.
  • Collaborated with a cross-functional team to create an English learning platform for intermediate and advanced self-study students, expanding the company’s potential client base.

  • Developed design systems, style guides, and design patterns that contributed to the rebranding of the company’s visual presence, resulting in a cohesive and strong brand identity, which brought more positive verbal and social media reviews.
  • Initiated and designed cloud-based software to collect, analyze, and visualize business flow data. This accelerated the process, reduced manual work by 30% and improved the statistical accuracy from 80% to 99%.
  • In collaboration with a cross-functional team, altered Colorado’s EDR (Electronic Death Registration) system, accelerating the error correction process thus reducing processing time from days to hours.
  • Based on client research designed and implemented remote client data entry through the company’s website, reducing processing time which attracted more clients and, therefore, boosted profits.

  • Designed, including calculating dimensions and the number of materials, for complex memorials with a lifelong guarantee.
  • Took responsibility in product management when the project went sideways, resolving issues minimizing company’s expanses and ensuring client satisfaction.

My skills
